NIDO STELLA TETRA PAK

The nido, which was inaugurated in February 2005, was created by the TETRA PAK PACKAGING SOULTION S.P.A., a world leader firm in the field of packaging. The firm, with the collaboration of the Modena municipality, has built an eco-friendly structure, very much in line with its own corporate mission, where the nido is conceived as an educational and cultural place living fully in its territory, an innovative project that make two different goals match: to continue the development of different aspects of human culture and to give a new meaning to the encounter between business, economy and education.

The name “star” comes from the form of the building: 500 square meters that constitutes one of the first bio-buildings in Italy, created with the advising of ZPZ PARTNERS, a firm working in the field of architecture, design and research. ZPZ focuses on innovative structures from the point of view of concept and formal qualities. Together with Reggio Children, ZPZ has worked and researched for many years now in the field of architecture for infancy.

Since September 2017, Reggio Children is responsible for the pedagogical coordination of the nido, which is now run by PANTA REI. Reggio Children s.r.l. takes inspiration from the goals and values of the experience of the nidi and scuole of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia and works to experiment with, promote and spread high-quality education. The international fame of the Reggio Emilia experience and the collaboration with many other institutions around the globe have generated an international network, which now counts 32 countries.

PANTA REI operates in the field of education since 1999.

The nido Stella is one where the gaze always focuses on little details of everyday life and where it is testified how precious and unique every single story is.

Our goal is an eco-sustainable educational project where sustainability becomes a condition for development. From this starting point, here are some of the values and key words that characterize the nido’s pedagogical project: the widespread atelier, internationality, documentation, education to good taste and the atelier of flavours, welcoming diversity, the child at the centre, the value of education, the hundred languages of children, environment, the organization of spaces and materials, research, participation, rights and responsibilities, sustainability, citizenship, innovative paths of research. An international nido, that is opened to the world and where research becomes an attitude, a state of mind, a process that grows in the everyday life of children and adults, where the idea of child is the one of an active subject, grasping for knowledge. A child who is a researcher and a builder of knowledge in a constant relation with the other. A child that discovers the world and communicate with his 100 languages in their multiple interconnections.
